The Young Audience Outreach Tour

Now in its 38th season, The Young Audience Outreach Tour’s mission is to bring high quality musical theatre to rural and underserved communities. This program annually produces an original children’s show for students in grades K-6 grade that tours throughout the Southwest, serving over 37,000 young people.

With a strong anti-bullying message, the Fall tour encourages students to be “upstanders” rather than “bystanders” through an original bilingual musical!

The Young Audience Outreach Tour is always:

  • Geared for students in grades K-6!
  • In alignment with National Core Arts Standards!
  • A musical that empowers and motivates action!
  • Full of audience participation!

Productions last approximately 50 minutes and can be performed in a multi-purpose room, a theatre, or gym. The actors will interact directly with the students throughout the show. It is a highly energetic hour of learning and entertainment.

Our children loved it! They were very engaged, they really responded to the presentation being bilingual and the cast was so professional. I was amazed at how the cast included the students and really controlled the behavior through the presentation. We truly appreciate your support.  You are AWESOME!

— Joe Gutierrez, Principal, Killip Elementary, Flagstaff, AZ

Literacy Matters

Before our show arrives at your school, teachers will have access to our study guide to help introduce students to the themes of the production. After our audience interactive performance, every student receives a free childrens’ book. These books reinforce the themes of the study guide and the performance while making reading exciting!

Keeping You in Mind

The true cost of our show is $715 per performance. However, CRT is committed to ensuring that the Young Audience Outreach Tour remains accessible for all communities. To inquire about booking the show or ask about financial assistance, please contact Education Director Brittni Shambaugh Addison at or 719-658-2540 x227.

The students were positively engaged with the performance. They were laughing, responded to the actors and left wanting to read books. What teachers could ask for anything more?
