Headwaters New Play Program
WHAT IS HEADWATERS?
Headwaters New Play Program aspires to be a source for new American plays through a process of commission, development, and production. The program actively seeks to amplify the voices and stories of the San Luis Valley and rural Southwestern United States.
Since its inception in 2012, seven plays developed under Headwaters have had their world premieres onstage at Creede Repertory Theatre, including Kind of Red, Hazardous Materials, and Mountain Octopus.
Annual world premerie productions for CRT Education – The Tiny Tour, The KID Show, and the Young Audience Outreach Tour (YAOT) – are also comissioned and produced as part of Headwaters.
