Welcome! I am so thrilled to be moving into my second season as CRT’s Education Director! It has been such a joyous experience getting to know the community and continuing to implement programming that enriches and enhances the lives of those in and around the area. I am so excited to continue to develop new programming and opportunities for continued growth and mentorship for individuals across the creative spectrum.
After last summer’s incredibly successful educational season, I am eager to launch into planning Summer 2020! We have an exciting list of Day Camps for students age 3-18. I am also thrilled to bring on Steve Moulds to write and direct a brand-new piece specifically for the participants in The KID Show this season. Steve is an incredibly talented theatre artist, and I am thrilled for the students to get to know him and his work.
In the fall we will launch into our 37th year of the Young Audience Outreach Tour! We are once again projected to reach over 35,000 young people across Colorado, Kansas, New Mexico, Arizona, Utah, and Oklahoma. This year, our Young Audience Outreach Tour will be written by Diana Grisanti (playwright of last season’s KID Show: Derring-Do), and directed by Drama League Directing Fellow, Ismael Lara.
Community Outreach initiatives continue throughout the off-season, including our ever-popular Friday Day Camps. We have had an awesome Fall semester with workshops including Clowning, Scenic Design, Low-Flying Trapeze, and Costume Design. Keep an eye on our website for our Spring programming!
I am regularly inspired by CRT’s educational mission: to strive in bringing excellent arts programming that inspires creativity, challenges, empowers, and nurtures individuals and communities through storytelling. I cannot wait to see what more 2020 brings.
Come play and learn with us!
