Learn With Us

Welcome! I am excited to share with you our innovative and thought provoking educational programing we have for our 53rd season. We start the summer with our four fantastic day camps where students will play, gain hands on experience and learn lifelong skills alongside talented teaching artists. We launch the summer with our exciting Day Camps; Improv Studio, Witches and Monkeys, Sketch Your Comedy and bringing back by demand Action Storytime! Then for our 16th season of The KID Show program we will continue to empower the young creative minds to develop and produce a new play under the mentorship of Diana Burbano, Rachel Maria Ines, Dustin Bielich, Elly Hunt, Becca Pearce, and Harry Foster! We are producing a play called Abandoned Way Out West, a group of orphans work together to solve the towns mystery and discover the true meaning of family. Finally our season ends with the Young Audience Outreach Tour production of Seeds of Change hitting the road. We have invited our amazing 2017 YAOT team back Lojo Simon, Melissa Firlit, Ian LeRoy, Mark Exline, and Natalie Mayo, while welcoming back to CRT, Kate Mott and Anna Paniccia. This year we are exploring with puppets and expanding a second tour in order to reach children within the Northwest Kansas and Southern California communities!

As a young Mexican-American girl in Southern California, I struggled to not become another statistic. Growing up I had very few Latino/a role models, no one paving the way forward, so often I felt alone and frustrated in the search for mentorship. Theatre gave me the window of opportunity to find and become that strong role model that I was in search of for other young Latino/a children. In an effort to share my experience with others, I made educating and mentoring children less privileged my personal mission.  For these reasons I am inspired and motivated to continue bringing professional theatre experiences to children of all ages, regardless of their economic or cultural background. I have witnessed the impact theatre can have in a young child’s life and how it can inspire critical thinking, effective communication, collaboration, and creative problem solving. I feel a tremendous responsibility and honor to continue developing Creede Repertory Theatre’s educational programs in pursuit of giving others a key to the door of knowledge and artistic possibilities.

I deeply believe in CRT’s educational mission; to strive in bringing excellent arts programming that inspires creativity, challenges, empowers, and nurtures individuals and communities through storytelling. I invite you to join us this season! Come play and learn with us!
