Support CRT for GIVING TUESDAY NOW!

Fri. Apr. 24 / News

Dear CRT Family,

I hope this email finds you and your loved ones healthy and safe. We can’t help but wonder how much longer we will work from home, or watch our loved ones risk the front lines. Thank you to all those whose essential services keep us functioning, cared for, fed, and so much more.

Here at CRT, we have been creative in our responses to this global situation. We have been transforming our art online, hoping for the day when we can all return safely to making theatre as a family, together. As we create our plans, we are keeping your health and safety as our highest priority, because as a family we want to get through this together. This is not the staff’s theatre, or our company’s theatre, but your theatre, always.

In the midst of our hope, this year will be hard. Not just socially, but also financially. Our annual budget is typically 50% earned income from programming and tickets, and 50% donations. Due to the effects of COVID-19 on our Season, we are anticipating a minimum of $450,000 in missed ticket revenue for 2020. CRT is doing all we can to reduce expenses to meet this shortfall, but we need your help to bridge the gap.

Today, we are asking our CRT family to support us on the upcoming #GivingTuesdayNow on May 5th. Launched worldwide as an emergency response to these unprecedented times, your support is crucial to our ability to continue carrying out our mission. Here in Creede, we strive to provide an artistic home through our unique repertory format, dynamic education programming, and commitment to developing new work. We believe in the power of the arts to transform communities, empower students, and cultivate creative and resilient spirits. This trying time will test CRT’s resilience, and we are ready to face that challenge. But we can’t do it without you.

On May 5th, our goal is to raise $50,000 to help bridge the gap of $450,000 in missed ticket revenue. Your donation will help pay our staff, artists, rent, utilities, materials for facility improvements and more.

The CEO of Giving Tuesday, Asha Curran, put it this way: “As a global community, we can mourn this moment of extreme crisis while also finding the opportunity to support one another. We each have the power to make an impact with acts of generosity, no matter how small, and to ensure the sustainability of organizations and services that are crucial to the care and support of our communities.”

We hope you will join us on May 5th, and we can’t wait until we see you again in the mountains.
