My name is Johamy Morales and I am the Education Director for CRT. Growing up as a young Mexican-American girl in Southern California I struggled not to become another statistic. Throughout my childhood I lived in an underserved community where Hispanic women had a small window of opportunity to go to college, due to lack of education and exposure to the arts. Theatre opened a door of artistic possibilities and more importantly it lead me to my personal mission of educating, exposing, and mentoring others less privileged. For these reasons I am inspired and motivated to continue bringing professional theatre experiences to children of all ages, regardless of their economic or cultural background. I have witnessed the impact theatre can have in a young child’s life and how it can inspire critical thinking, effective communication and collaboration, and creative problem solving. I feel a tremendous responsibility and honor to continue developing CRT’s educational programs in pursuit of giving others a key to the door of artistic possibilities.
I believe in CRT’s educational mission; to strive in bringing excellent arts programming that inspires creativity, challenges, empowers, and nurtures individuals and communities through storytelling. Come play and learn with us!
